The 5040 was manufactured between 1975 and 1981. It came standard with a 6 speed transmission with a cat II 3 point hitch. An option was a 9 speed. The engine was made by Uzina and is a 3 cylinder diesel with 148 ci which developed about 40 horsepower. Late models had 158 ci and developed 44 horsepower. The tractor weighed about 4060 #. Speeds ranged from 0.5 to 15.2 mph (with the 9 speed). Rear tires were 13.6 - 28 and front were 6.00 - 16. All in all, it looks pretty much like its ancestors, the D-15 and WD-45.
