Jim, Oil pump is on back of engine. It's below the tube on the right side at the back, below the mason jar. Take the mason jar off and see if there is a tube in the middle. That tube can get pushed to far down and cause the pressure to be bad by blocking the flow.You do need a tube for it to work right. Prime with oil-squirt can as others have described. Make sure pressure guage is good before spliting tractor. Filter is a C-159 at Carquest. Also might take the oil line loose that goes to head and see if oil is flowing.15-18 lbs. is good. Have one that starts out around 18 lbs. but when temperature reaches 180 degrees it drops to around 8 lbs.HTH. Dale
