The voltage regulator has nothing to do with things in that box. The regulator works in conjunction with your generator to charge, but not overcharge, your battery and maintain the output of your generator within the operating voltage of your electrical system. If you're not going to have your tractor in "show condititon" it's best to replace both your $60 regulator and $120 generator with a $35 internally regulated alternator. You'll have a better charging system at less than 20% of the cost. Simple to do, too.
