I would be checking your relief pressure on the pump. Those pumps can develop WAY too much pressure if the relief spool is hung up and that might cause the engine to bog down under what would be a normal load otherwise. Beg borrow or steal a 5,000 PSI oil filled pressure gauge and connect it to the hydraulic outlet. Turn the PTO on and lift the lever with the engine running about half throttle. The gauge should not go past 3,500. If it does, take the pump off and remove shims from the relief spool or find out why it's hanging up. If that spool is hanging up, you could have serious results from a rupture in the system or even brake something, like the cam that drives the pump.
