I have my WC running pretty good. Fixed the oil leak on the side cover and took it for a short test ride yesterday. Questions, it starts easy, idles nice, however when I move the throttle quadrant to a higher speed, nothing happens until it is at the last notch, and it still seems to only be making 7 or 800 RPM. I can pull the throttle lever further at the carb and get it to rev higher, probably too high. Adjusting the linkage doesn't change anything, adjusting the main jet on the zenith carb makes a marginal difference. I live in the suburbs, my test ride was on fairly level paved road in second and third gear, at this RPM it's hard to tell if the gov. is working. Also, I converted this to 12 volt following instructions written by Bob Melville for a Farmall M, taken from this sight. Using a warning light that is wired from the #1 terminal on the alternator, through the ignition switch to the positive side of the coil(I used a 12 volt coil that does not require a ballast resistor). Instructions say the light should go out after the amp meter shows a charge. The light stays on all the time. I checked the wiring, it's to the diagram. Sorry for the long post, hope you guys can help me out.
