I have never seen my wife take a spill and I hope I never do. She will usually lunge them for a good bit of time after tacking them up just to make sure they get all their bucks and snorts worked out before she gets in the saddle. Her oldest mare (around 17 I think) is pretty docile and we don't have any concerns with her. The younger one (around 4) I probably wont ride for another few years, she's a sweetheart but a bit more spirited. She's about as green as I am! lol
