Depends a lot on the injection pump I think. I've run a few gallons in each of my diesel Mercedes with no ill effects. Maybe run a gallon or two per tank for a couple weeks. The diesel will thin the mazola out for you. The real problem with running a lot of oil is its so thick it'll wear on the injection pump. Depending on the engine you might find some smell, or not. My '83 Mercedes 240D made a distinct smell, my '85 Mercedes 190D did not but they're from 2 different engine families, the newer engine burns much cleaner.
