I have a question if anyone can help I would be thankfull. I bought my first tractor today, the seller didnt know what model it was. He thought 8n but had been told that was not true. I found the serial #location on the left side of the block and here is what is stamped in the cast block. 8n49x492. This doesnt match with any serial #s in the book but seem to indicate that it is an 8n. The only thing on the tractor that i havent seen on other models is the adjustable spring seat. It does not look like the common u shaped spring. It has a coil spring that can adjust to different levels. Anyway I would like to know what model and if possible year this is. It would help in the restoration project. Thanks
