I have overhauled several 5.9 Cummins in the late CIH tractors. Two had over 12,000 hours on them. I have yet to see one that needed bored. It seems that the bores must be hard or something. I measured them real well and they have been in tolerance. I would worry more about the cost of overhauling a Case 504. I have seen several of them with bad blocks where the sleeves have worn the block.
