The fact that it "scares" you is as criminal as the fear that some people use against senior citizens should be.
You obviously aren't old enough to remember the same nut jobs warning of the same disasters, for the same reasons resulting from the "new ice age" that they claimed was coming.
It's hard not to make it political since that all that it is. Name a special interest group and I can tell you how they use it. Feminists? It's not fair to fat chicks. Attractive women dress more skimpy in warm weather and attract men. It's not fair to the fat ugly ones.
The whole concept of what they claim will happen runs counter to simple third grade science. Still,it's just a scapegoat for every weather event instead of looking at the real cause. This springs weather for example,at least two things, maybe three. La Nina in the Pacific, and the fact that there's been so little solar activity in the past two and a half years that the sun has cooled significantly. The third cause would be something that the Farmers Almanac warned about back in 1998. They said then that we were at the end of the 350 year warming cycle and the next 20 years would be cool wet springs. There's written history in China and Europe that prove this 700 year cycle of heating and cooling along with scientific evidence that the tree line in the mountains rises and falls by about 200 feet every 700 years.
The FACT that some people are determined to say that the debate is over should scare you more than the whole GW theory. That's a return to the dark ages when science and innovation were pretty much outlawed by the church.
The cause of so called "global warming" has changed at least 3 times now until they've finally had to change the whole global warming thing to "climate change" because people aren't that stupid, they know when it's cold. No doubt the reason why the number of believers has fallen by 50% in just the past 3 years.
My son says that if you want to REALLY see somebody get red faced, spitting and drooling MAD about it,just bring it up to an Eskimo that they do business with. The shop where he works builds those harpoon guns that fire the exploding harpoons for whaling. That Eskimo comes down for repair work and to pick up guns and such. He says anybody who believes that garbage should come up to where he lives. He says it's absolutely nothing but pure politics.
I could go on,but I'm getting tired of typing. It's all a huge steaming load of crap and if you were old enough to have common sense and your livelihood depended on it,you'd know that.

Today's Featured Article - New Hitches For Your Old Tractor - by Chris Pratt. For this article, we are going to make the irrational and unlikely assumption that you purchased an older tractor that is in tip top shape and needs no immediate repairs other than an oil change and a good bath. To the newcomer planning to restore the machine, this means you have everything you need for the moment (something to sit in the shop and just look at for awhile while you read the books). To the newcomer that wants to get out and use the machine for field work, you may have already hit a major roadblock. That is the dreaded "proprietary hitch". With the exception of the ...
