i have an alternator off a 1990 gmc pick up that I would like to put on a tractor but can't quite figure it all out. It has 3 wires plus the output stud. Looking at it from the rear it is a 12 ga red wire to the left, then a 16 ga red w/blk stripe and a 16 ga black. I assume one is to the key and one is for voltage sensing but which one and what is the 3rd one for? Also what is the ideal rpm for a 10si. This one that I want to replace is 37 amp but can't keep 28 amp going at even 12 volt. It drops as low as 10 volt with 28 amp load.
