Had one done last July; nothing to it........as far as procedure. Choose an experienced doctor. I knew at the time, but have forgotten how many my doctor does each day.......18 or 20, as I recall. Sight was better immediately.....20/20, but I was not informed of all the issues. For 2 or 3 months, fluorescent lighting drove me nuts; the flickering that most of us are not aware of was very evident, but I no longer notice it. I also have a LARGE 'floater' that I didn't know was there; apparently the cataract had it hidden. Insurance paid for a fixed lense; there is an 'adjustable' lense on the market........for an additional cost. It's supposed to negate the need for glasses. Neither my optometrist nor the surgeon recommended it. I'm near-sighted in the other eye and with the new, far-sighted lense in the other, I don't need glasses. I would definitely have it done again.
