Inspired by Garys absolute command of his costs, I did a little quick figuring. Seed $65 Dry starter fert. some N, mostly P, some K, and Zinc- $68 N $70 I haven't purchased chemicals yet. No lime requirement- alkaline soil. All purchased last fall. Sure wish my fuel supplier had an early purchase plan! For many years, 100 bu. was the standard. Now if I don't get at least 140, I'm disappointed. Have been spoiled the last few years by yields closer to 200 than 100. I guess I should have incorporated my location into my name when I registered, as it only shows up in modern view, and location is everything! Southern Cayuga county, central NY. The biggest grain producing county in the state. We pale in comparison to the midwest, but it's as good as it gets here!
