I had been driving my truck (F250 - 5.4 gas) to and from the farm for the last 5 years, it gets about 12mpg. The cost of gas when it is over $3/gal is just about killing me, $600+/month.
finally decided to park the truck at the farm and use it for farm duties and went out and bought a 2-door DIESEL, 6 Speed VW Golf. It takes some getting used to being in such a small car but with the back seats folded down there is a ton of room and here is the kicker,
My door to door total mileage for a round trip (80+miles) is averaging 42mpg!
