Welcome to the reality of using/restoring an old tractor. You can usually buy a completely redone tractor for less than it cost to go through one. The common tractors did not hold there value this last economic down turn. A good WD45 can be bought around here for the $1000-2000 dollar range. Value depending on the tires. There where many thousands of them built. The same thing has happened to the letter series JD and the old Case letter series too.
Another thing that is happening. People tend to collect what they grew up on. The birth date of the collectors is moving up to the newer tractors. The new generation JD are getting real expensive compared to just a few years ago.
