I recently purchased a John Deere 7000 - 6 row planter with 5 added row units. This makes the planter a 15 inch - 11 row planter for soybeans. The planter was never designed to handle 11 rows, especially since 5 are hanging back behind the original 6 units. I have seen many of these modified 7000 planters. They work great. The problem is the planter is in the early stages of failure where the tongue attaches to the main frame. There are some cracks along the factory welds. A small "add on" brace in the corner of the tongue and main frame is also beginning to fail. I don't want it to move or crack any more. Have you seen any ideas for bracing the tongue to the main frame so it will not rip out?? Thank you.
