Snowfall was a bit slow in coming in large events to this area this year, however there was snow on the ground by Thanksgiving, and aculmulated daily, and packed very densely and still, continues to accumulate, (see fresh snow on scraper banks), each week. The few thaws we have had just consolidate the snow into a near ice condition. Today when Frank and I walked out to look at the Case, we barely left footprints. The roads are horable there now. Frost heaves 4-8" deep. The snow banks hold the frost under the sholders, and the blacktop draws heat during the day droping the driving lanes as the frost melts, and culverts thaw, causing major dives across the roads.
