I'm not ready to commit to the word "cold" either, but I will say this. I was doing field work at this time last year, but the frost isn't even all the way out yet this year let alone the mud. I moved my cattle into the calving pasture, but there's still quite a bit of ice on the runoff ponds out there. I sure hope it warms up before one of those dummies tries walking on it.
