A year ago, when i tried to start my riding mowers, stored out back in an old frame garage, i found the mice had nested under the flywheel covers on both machines. their favorite meal is the insulation on the spark plug wire, and then when that is gone, the small wiring is second best. Then i heard that clothes dryer sheets, placed and stuffed, in strategic places, will make them seek residence in other places. Worked well this winter. Everything started up right away! Mice like those places, because they can hide from cats and other varmints that like them for dessert. Heck, i even kept some junk engines, etc. there for them, but they just liked the runnable ones. They make their toilets in between the cylinder fins. So, try the dryer sheets. They'll make yer machine smell real nice, too!
