: Most of the farming I grew up around was either dairy, or hay. Dont know much about tillage farming so here's the question; : When I spied a deal on a tractor is read the following line; : "tractor comes with disc bedders and middle buster plow w/ wheel markers". : Can someone quickly educate this dairy farmer as to what exactly these attachments are? A disk bedder is used to build up a raised bed in a row either for planting in (usually vegetables, flowers or nursery stock) or for hilling the soil around existing plants. The middle buster is the tool which is used to break the bed and spread the soil back out on either side of the row after the crop has been removed. The middle buster can also be used to make furrows for planting bulbs, potatoes, or similar items.
