Growing up on the farm we had 120 acres, 80 on the South side of the road and 40 on the North. The 40 belonged to my Grandfather on my Dad's side and had a pretty nice house on it. We rented it to a couple of different families. The second family eventually bought it and an acre that it sat on, and share-cropped with Dad.
Dad had 6 boys. Marv had 8 kids, 6 girls and 2 boys. (And a couple of more after I left home, I hear....) ANY-way, we had us a built in Slow Pitch Softball Team. We'd chose up sides, Marv would pitch, and we customized the rules to make up for a lack of outfielders.
The field was whichever field had been mowed or harvested most recently. Stepping in a little of Ma Nature's Fertilizer on the base path was a given.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed.
