Not sure where you got your "Japan appears to be smaller than Ohio" remark, or what that has to do with trying to help Japan after such a large scale natural disaster.
I have found that Japan is about 145,925 sq. miles, vs. Ohio at 44,825 sq. miles.
If you want a better size estimate, imagine the size of Florida, Georgia and South Carolina combined, that totals roughly 142,000 sq. miles.
Or if you are on the west coast, California is about 156,000 sw. miles.
Sounds to me like you are jealous of a country that is capitalizing on being technologically advanced, and you are using misinformation to try to reinforce your argument.
