My dad had a bad problem with them and raccoons. Found a young stray that looked like a black Shepard/Pitt bull mix. That was 6 years ago. SHE only stands 22-24" high, but has run out of coons and chucks! (Gotta break her of tearing up the gutters, when chipmunks hide in 'em) I've seen her kill a chuck like a mongoose, jumping to the side and shaking it to snap it's neck.....same with raccoons! I'm surprised you don't have a dog, since most have a natural inclination to go after varmints!
