I know right here where I live that since about November 10th or so we have been very wet. The snow cover we had kept the wet ground from freezing hard even though Dec-Jan-Feb were much below normal temps.
Every snow we have got this winter has been tough to move because if you broke through the crust you were stuck. The crust was just hard enough to keep you from "rocking" back and forth, you just went down further. DOUG
