Yep, there;s lke jobber, jobber + 10, dealer, stocking dealer, wholesale, distributor, and retail., etc. Differnent price rates, dependin on who ya are. Sucks major b*tt, but that's the way the game is played. ;
I always figured if they gave the walk-in customer price that knows what he wants, versus the walk-in customer thats gonna eat up a bunch of their time, they ought to give the guy a break, like at dealer, or maybe even jobber +10. Stilll makin money. Be a repeat customer and make money every time, plus word of mouth would get out.
I've walked in, here's the part number, got the part, and walked out with my b*tt sore. They're makin money, if they cut repeat customers (retail) that know what they're doin a break, they'd make a WHOLE lot more money. And get the best kind of advetisement--word of mouth.
Ya can't believe the markup in auto parts, don't ask me how I know
