The long wheelbase trucks were indeed Super Camper Specials.
I thought the unleaded fuel requirement was 5000 GVWR and under as 5000 was the base GVWR for the F100. There was only 50# difference in the GVWR for F100 and F150.
390 was a boat anchor. The 360 had loads of torque but no top end. I've owned a few 360's. They'd pull anything you could hitch behind the truck, but man they were thirsty! Many parts are interchangeable between the various FE engines which include 332,352,360,390,410,427,428.
