Some of the best money you can spend is owning your own fuel tanks. I own all of mine:gas,diesel and propane. I did this thirty years ago now. I found out that I could save thirty cent per gallon on my diesel at that time. I just bought another new 1000 gallon propane tank for a rental house last fall, $1495 DELIVERED. I find 500 gallon tanks on Graig"s list for $400-500.
When you own your own tank you can call around and see who is cheaper on fuel. The one place I get propane from takes ten cents per gallon off the top if you own your own tank. Just filled the tank at the grain bins to use up the last of my contracted fuel,$1.39. Truck price today was $1.85.
