i just bought a nice used 3/4 ton diesel in the fall cost about 4,000 more than same condition half ton gas models are going for i do alot of tractor hauling is why i went with it just doing some penciling going back and forth to work im saving $20 a week in fuel the oil works itself out go farther between changes but use more plus its nice to have the extra power yes i paid more for truck but the abuse i put on them hauling think i will save money in long run or at least justify it yes the price of diesel is going up but so is gas actually here the gas goes first then the diesel, prices usually stay same distance apart
