Mark, hope she's feeling better. I've had a few stones and they're unbearable. Here are some current tips from urologists for anyone having trouble with stones:
Drink LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of water every day for the rest of your life. Keep your urine as clear as possible.
If you drink coffee or tea or iced tea or sodas, give them up. Green tea is your worst enemy. Drink water and fruit juices.
Avoid rhubarb.
Avoid chocolate.
I used to drink lots of iced tea and sodas, plus I'm a chocoholic and I grow rhubarb and love rhubarb pie. It's a toxic blend for kidneys. I'm a water drinker now, but will eat chocolate and rhubarb in moderation.
Another thing that seems to work is to take 3-4 "Stone Free" tablets every day. The product is a bottle of tablets from the local herb shop and readily available on the internet.
I've been free of stones for 6-7 years now and can empathize with those suffering, and I'm happy to share any info if it might help somebody.
My mother, who passed away last year at 86, had a LARGE stone in one of her kidneys that was discovered late in her life. The docs didn't want to mess with it, but I really feel that it contributed to many of her health problems for years.

When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
