I've got a 7000 and a 7600... both use the same engine as a 7700. You'll have a hard time getting it to use over 4 gallons per hour doing tillage or other heavy work. Light work will be 1 1/2 to 2 gal./hr. It's plenty big for what your'e talking about doing with it. One thing to watch for on the Fords is cylinder wall cavitation. Keeping the coolant maintained with conditioner does a good job of preventing this. As I said in my other post, if it's in good shape, that's a good price! From what I know of them, the Case (2 neighbors have them) and the White will both use somewhat more fuel for the same job. But they ARE bigger. Their physical size will also make them less maneuverable.
