John, your deal might be water under the bridge but in future you and everyone else that reads this should keep this in mind. If there was nothing wrong with a piece of machinery you most likely wouldn't get the opertunity to buy it. Try to limit purchaces to machinery that the seller will let you operate on his property for a few hours. Most serious problems will show up in an hour or less as you found out. Buying from a lot is dangerous if it's all cleaned up and painted, no chance to try it. Many dealers aren't exactly crooked but will pass on bad luck they have bought. This may be small comfort to you but the professional traders are getting burned like this every day. Then they fight it out or try to sell it far away from home. Later Bob
