John, your deal might be water under the bridge but in future you and everyone else that reads this should keep this in mind. If there was nothing wrong with a piece of machinery you most likely wouldn't get the opertunity to buy it. Try to limit purchaces to machinery that the seller will let you operate on his property for a few hours. Most serious problems will show up in an hour or less as you found out. Buying from a lot is dangerous if it's all cleaned up and painted, no chance to try it. Many dealers aren't exactly crooked but will pass on bad luck they have bought.
