Reading the farmers almanac and farming by the moon phases can be a lot of fun and also make farming a little easier. I cut a stud horse on a day that the almanac said would be good to do castrating and he hardly bled at all. Planted the garden according to the moon phases and had the best crop I've ever had. Maybe it was a fluke, but I'm just glad it worked!!!
