Kyhayman is 100% correct. You won't be trying to prove he sold you a tractor with a faulty transmission. Those facts speak for themselves. You'll be trying to prove he INTENTIONALLY mis-led you. (ie, he knew the tranny was faulty and represented it as otherwise) In all likelyhood, his past history, while proving in the "court of public opinion" that he's a con man, won't be something admissible as evidence in YOUR case. It's usually about the facts that you can verify in your situation. There are far more laws to protect the rights of criminals than there is to protect the rights of those who live in accordance with the law.
