Tell that to the thousands of operators making a good living clearing snow with skid steers. For the size and HP, a skid steer will work circles around an equal or even higher HP tractor. I can clear snow way faster in a skid steer without chains than I can with tractor with chains. I started a big snow removal project yesterday. Heavy wet snow that formed molds to the shape of the bucket. I could barely drive the tractor with chains in it, let alone push anything. A snowblower would have been equally useless. The track loader would push it in a straight line but you lost traction when you turned because you have to brake one track to steer. Sorry but in my experience a skid steer is the cat's meow for the snow clearing I do. You can maneuver it anywhere, pull snow away from buildings, dig up hard packed packed snow, instantly spin tighter than a dime in addition to instant forward and reverse with no gear changing and then there's all the things you can use it for in the summer. I guess if all you're doing is long driveways and roads, there may be faster machines but a skid steer will do all that in addition to any other type of clearing you need to do. Dave
