I think the guys are misreading your post, you said coolant leak/overheating. That being said the 3.1 are noted for head gasket problems more than the intake from what I heard. And when I replaced my head gaskets on the wife's 1995 Olds Cutlass 3.1 we had overheating problems, not bad just a little warmer than it usually ran. And can't remember any coolant passages in the intake manifold/gasket area. And with the head gaskets you replace the head bolts also, and use liquid teflon tape for lube on the heads and threads of the head bolts. The one head bolt is a support/locator for the AC compressor mount and needs to be modified to fit over the head of the bolt. chris
