Went out to look at the Case 580C Hoe on Saturday and determined it wasn't salvagable. (The engine looked better than the rest of the hoe.) Owner described it as worn out when he bought it and he said he had worn it out some more. Someone had also 'borrowed' some parts off of it at it at 2nd to last resting place. (After reading all of the feedback I opted to not bring any tools along. If I had bought it I would have learned on the go back at the home shop.)
It was well worth the trip; owner was a great guy to chat with and there were a lot of other old trucks, tractors, and equipment I got to check out on the property.
