I was just now watching the 3 Stooges. They won $5000 in a contest and checked in to the Costa Plente Hotel. When the check was delivered,there was a list of all the taxes that had been taken out. They ended up with $4.95. Way short of paying for the $5000 vase and the Henry VIII bed that they broke.
