Grandpa & Grandma moved off the farm in 1966. Grandpa bought the 280 acres in 1938. He told the buyers not to burn wood in the stove as the chimney wasn't good. They did and the house burned to the ground less than one year after Grandpa sold out. I have an aerial picture of the farm and house taken in the 50's and published in a Farm Bureau book. Grandpa sold out due to the possibility of friction within the family over who would be next in line. Grandpa made his payments from his dairy herd which netted him $85 a week from milk sales. His chief tractor, after the horses, as a 9n Ford. Not much tillage on the place.
