After reading all the post in a thread like this I wander how in the world some people in this Nation have let their local gooberments get so big. We don't even have zone'n laws in my county.
With that said, only problem you run into here would be with the bank if the second house were to have it's own lien. Banks won't let some one get a morgage on a new home with out have'n a lien on the whole property and most of the time the parents don't want to live with that but if it's a large chunk of land that is taxed as farm land then it would be worth it not to split it up and have the farm part reapprased. Taxes don't go up here on farm ground when it is bought, only when it is split up.
