By "break" I believe you to mean disintegrate and not "snap in half". From what I can tell they use Comet Torq-a-verters on those carts and it is likely the asymetrical set up where one side of the belt is only two degrees off of perpendicular and the otherside is about seven degrees. If you had it on backwards you would shred the belt in a short time. Why the original and the third belt broke is probably due to something out of adjustment, i.e clutch to clutch alignment (broken or loose motor mounts??) or improper engagement/disengagement of either primary or secondary clutch. It is also possible that the primary sheeves are glazed over due to hard use and need to be scuffed up with emery cloth or scotchbrite. If you don't have an idea how that system works you need to find someone qualified to look at it before you do further damage or go broke trying belt after belt.
