You would think the credit card company would have to do an investigation that included talking to the seller and asking the seller to remedy the problem or correct false claims from the buyer. Anything sold used is considered as-is unless it is stated otherwise in the form of a warranty. It's another matter if an item is intentionally misrepresented and the seller knows it. This can be really hard to prove a lot of times. If it's as simple as you say to get the credit card company to issue a refund, everyone would pay with a credit card and then complain they weren't satisfied with their purchase. In the case of this tractor, it sounds like the seller was never even given the option of returning the money and taking the tractor back. Dave
