If you are serious about this, you will NOT be disappointed. There is so much to see on the North Shore of Lake Erie, with a very scenic road following the Lake from Detroit to Niagara Falls.
I-75 North to Detroit, cross into Canada at Windsor, Ontario and watch for #3 Hwy to Leamington.
Make sure you recognize the speed limit in kilometers per hour, which is usually 80km/50 mph on the secondary highways.
Now if you are in this area around wheat harvest, you can help Gramps harvest his wheat. This will show the rest, he really does exist and has a tractor!
Now if you miss the exit in Detroit, I-75 will take you to Port Huron, cross into Canada via Sarnia (Lambton County).
Beautiful drive along the St. Clair River, visit Petrolia, Ontario to see the old working oil rigs. The Canadain side of the river is an excellent side to view the St. Clair River and see the ships passing.
