I think MOST of us are for REASONABLE regulations, but like someone posted people with extreme ideology often run government agencies. The US EPA RRP (lead paint) regulations have had a negative impact on the construction/remodeling industry. Things will get worse once they get more money to enforce the new regs. I recently bid on repairing a 150 year old house that had been struck by a vehicle. The cost of complying with the RRP regs was nearly $7000. Complying with the EPA rules has ZERO benefit for this customer. When it's all said and done the insurance company isn't likely to pay for the added work necessitated by the EPA. The home owner is an elderly lady who doesn't appear to have much if any money. She'll likely have to give up her home.

Today's Featured Article - The Revival of a John Deere Combine - by The Red, John Fritz. For several years I had been driving by a farm house on the west side of Indianapolis that had a John Deere combine parked in high weeds in a lot behind the house. The gentleman no longer farmed because the entire area was developed with housing and light industry. I had stopped several times and knocked on the door but no one would answer.
