I have had that concern ever since they went to the opd valve, and when you exchange a tank is says right on the plastic sleeve net. wt. 15 lb. So, the only time I exchange a tank is when it is due for a inspection, (after 12 years) or some other reason I want to get rid of the tank, I had one that came with our Weber grill that was an od-ball. The guy at our local Cenex says he can get 20 lb. in most of the new tanks, and if you take 2 or more at a time there only $13!
