I can only say, I had the privilege to have met a POW and escorted him around Ontario. This gentleman was an Australian, I believe he would have been referred to as a "Digger"!
My last visit to Australia, he was living in the Narabeen Veteran's Home. I never told him I was coming and he was totally surprised.
In my travels I also met a "Rat" from the Rat Patrol who served in Northern Africa, then there was this "Rainbow Warrior"!
If I recall correctly, the "Rats" were on the front lines, the second line was referred to as the "Rainbows", they always came out after the storm.
