We have a similair thing in Ontario, its an attempt to stop the spread of the emerald ash borer. Where the province has deemed an area is infested, firewood is not to be removed from that area into another area. Dutch Elm Disease and the Emerald Ash borer have destroyed billions of dollars worth of logs in Ontario,decimated woodlots and wetlands where these trees grew. I am more upset about how all these european diseases and european garbage fish and zebra muscles have infested North America through trade and shipping. Its the price we have to pay to try and stop it.
