Back in the '40s, '50s, '60s, even the '70s and '80s, you had guns hanging over doorways, guns in the corner of the living room, guns in the hall closet.
Any kid could walk into the local hardware store and buy a box of ammo.
If anything guns were MORE accessible back then!
Why didn't it occur to kids of those eras to take those guns to school and shoot the place up? Surely there were a few angry, hormone-driven, angst-ridden outcasts in every school.
What's different now in the heads of teenagers which cause them to act on these "out in a blaze of glory" fantasies?
