They do that here in Idaho. I had some jack a$$ cut the corner off of my front plate on my pickup. It was during the winter so they cut the plate so they could get inside where warm and remove the sticker. I ask the police when I reported it and they said they don't check # on sticker. Only way to find out is if thief gets stopped for something else and when plate it run its expired. It they don't get stopped for anything else they are good to go. The thing that pissed me off the most was that they probably used MY tin snips that were in the back of the pickup! Steven
