There is about a 3' wide entry out to the point, therefore the point was easy to use as a natural coral. Heards would be pushed onto the point, the best were selected out and then the rest released.
According to local legend, a band of broomtails was left corralled on the point. The gate was supposedly left open so the horses could return to the open range. For some unknown reason, the mustangs remained on the Point. There they died of thirst within sight of the Colorado River, 2,000 feet below.
A few years back you may have seen a few ford truck TV commercials filmed from on the point.
