I agree with you wilson. I'm the same way - western boots and clothes, but not cowboy. Tough to explain, but there is a difference.
My summer boots are from the Great Canadian Boot Company (I think that's the name). Kinda cheap, but comfy and tough. Western style, but with a walking heel and steel toe.
If I'm in the shop all day, I wear tall Dakota lace-up work boots. Good ankle support for crawling around on equipment, and more comfortable on cement floors. In winter, I don't mess around - Baffin arctic boots. I can't stand cold feet.
